Why does someone use the consume function?

It is an operational decision. If the comany says we will Sort all loads so we have the true documetation on what everything broke down to, they will do a sort. For example if the customer required to be paid for all commodities they will do a sort.

now....if the company said im dropping off mixed electroncis and you received it as mixed electronics, it is an operational decision to save money and consume it all and throw it in the staging area.

some companies will do that as doing a sort is longer and more tedious not companies that all they had to do is pay as mixed electronics they can do it easily, and if they want to sort for their own internal tracking they may choose to do so. But frtom a reporting standpoint from the client they are done
