Utilizing the Smart Location Grid for Resale Items

This tutorial shows you how to utilize the smart location grid for resale items on the Receive Inventory screen.

The smart location is an excellent tool to keep your warehouse organized and find the best locations for receiving items.

1.  Navigate to Inventory > Receive Inventory.

The Receive Inventory page will be displayed.

2.  Select the item you would like to relocate. You can pick the item that is already in the system or you can do this in the initial moment when you are creating an item.

3.  Select the location you wish to assign for the item by clicking the () icon in the Assign Location field.

The Assign Location dialog will be displayed.

You can view the smart location for the particular item in this page. It will show you the details such as Free Volume, Location Dimensions, Max Weight and Current Weight. So you will get to know whether or not you are putting a particularly large item. You will get the display of how many of the current items that we have. So there are 34 of Dell Optiplex Gx620 in that location. 

4.  Select the PL -30 and click Confirm.

After confirming you will notice that there is a change in the item in Assigned Location field.

5.  Click Print Label.

6.  You can also check Bin and Bulk Rack locations.

 7.  Select Bin and check the display of Bin. You will find negative ranking because the items that have mentioned are larger than the dimension of the actual location.

8.  Select Bulk Rack. Check the display of Bulk Rack and you will find high ranking because of too many items in them.

By default, you will get the display of Pallet. The Pallet tab has same items making it easy to pick lots of them for a large sale.
