Lock a Location at Receive Inventory

This tutorial shows how to lock a location on the Receive Inventory screen.

 This is useful for when you have several items that are all going to be inventoried to the same location so you need not continuously add the same location to every single one.

1.  Navigate to Inventory > Receive Inventory.

In the example here, E6420 is selected as the Model and you can set a Customer Name, generate a Unique Identifier, scan in, type or generate a Serial number, and set the Condition as USED.

2.  In the Assign Location field, you can type, search for, scan or find the location you want from the dropdown. In the example here 2-L1-S2-A is selected.

 3.  There is a small lock and unlock icon next to the Assign Location field. Upon clicking this it will lock (if previously unlocked) and make the location stay the same on all the items that you put in.

4.  Fill out the rest of the details as required.

5.  Click Create & Clear.

This is going to create the item and empty all other fields.

A message box asking you to confirm will be displayed.

6.  Click No.

At the bottom you can see that LATITUDE E6420 has been received in with the location that was selected, 2-L1-S2-A. The same location is there in the Assign Location field.

You can now choose to put in another E6420 or any other such item you would like to receive in and it would be in that same location.

7.  When you are done with the location, you can unlock it, which allows you to change the location.

Or else, if it uses a lock location, then upon leaving and coming back to Receive Inventory, it will unlock itself.

It will unlock itself.
