Receive an RMA Back into Inventory

This tutorial shows you how to receive an item back into your resale inventory after from an RMA.

 

This is for situations where the customer has returned an item and it was either found to be bad or it was tested fully working or it was returned because they no longer need that item.

Suppose you have an item that has the serial number already.In the example here, the item EN8D2843FD is taken.

1.  Search for it from the Receive Inventory screen.

You can see that the item has been opened for an RMA and the RMA is pending.

After it’s been received and fully tested, go back to RMA pending.

2.  Click RMA Pending.

You can see that this particular item has RMA Pending under Status.

In the top right in the ACTIVITY LOG, you can see that there is an RMA number assigned to this order which is RMA #98.

3.  Click RMA #98.

A new tab will be opened with the item here and under Return Reasons the reason is given as Does Not Want Any More.

4.  Click VERIFY.

You can see that item here is selected and under Verification Status, select Correct Item Returned or any of the given options depending on the status of the item. Here, Correct Item Returned has been selected.

5.  Under Comment section, type Fully Tested and for the RMA Comment, type in working.

6.  Click Save/Next.

Next is the re-inventorying of the item.

7.  Under Condition, select USED.

8.  Set the Workflow to Resale.

9.  The location in this case is Philadelphia Warehouse.


10.  Click SAVE/NEXT.

The item will be saved in the system as a regular item.

 

11.  Navigate to Inventory>Receive Inventory

12.  Go to the search bar and enter the serial number again.

The Status will now be Un-allocated meaning that the item can be sold to another customer.
