Is the user licensing based on "named users" or "concurrent users?" (for instance, if we have a 1st shift receiving user and a 2nd shift receiving user does that require 1 or 2 licenses)? How is it handled if a user opens multiple tabs or multiple browser instances?

Answer

User licensing is based on "named users" meaning two people cannot be signed into the same user name at the same time. If someone tries to login to a username that is actively signed in, they will be prompted with a message that someone is currently logged in and if they want to boot the other user. If you choose to booth the other user, the other user will be logged out to allow the other to login.

However, it is practical to allow two different people to use the same username if they work at different shifts.
