How to Use the Label Designer: A Step-by-Step Guide
The Label Designer is a powerful RazorERP GUI tool that allows you to create and customize labels for various sections of your system, such as inventory, shipping, and inbound orders. This guide will walk you through the process of designing and customizing labels using the RazorERP’s Label Designer.
Accessing the Label Designer
Navigate to your RazorERP system settings.
Select Label Designer.
You’ll see an interface where you can create labels for different purposes:
Inventory Labels: Used for receiving pages and assets.
Lot Labels: Includes inbound and outbound order labels for bulk commodities.
Shipping Labels: For carriers like FedEx and UPS.
Bin Labels: For warehouse organization.
Specific Order Labels: Found in the inbound section.
Creating a Label
Step 1: Select a Label Template
Begin by choosing a label size, such as 3x2.
If no templates are available, a blank label will open by default.
Step 2: Adjust Label Properties
Modify the top margin and other properties as needed.
Focus on the detail section, which is the main body of the label.
Designing the Label
Step 1: Add Text Fields
Drag and drop text fields onto the label.
Adjust the font, alignment, and size for better readability:
Example: Set the font to Arial, alignment to center, and size to 9pt.
Use Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V to duplicate fields and maintain uniformity.
Step 2: Add Barcodes
Drag a barcode field onto the label.
Customize the barcode settings:
Choose between 1D options or QR codes.
Adjust text formatting and barcode size.
Step 3: Map Data Fields
Access the database section to map data fields such as:
Manufacturer
Model
Screen size
Grade
Serial number
Drag and drop fields from the database to the corresponding label sections.
Previewing and Fine-Tuning
Save your label design with a descriptive name (e.g., "LCD Monitor 3x2").
Preview the label by selecting it and clicking Preview.
Adjust spacing, font sizes, and alignment as necessary:
Use the bottom controls to tighten spacing.
Overlapping fields (marked in red) may need resizing or reorganization.
Advanced Features
Add shapes like boxes or horizontal bars for better visual organization.
Incorporate dynamic logic to concatenate multiple fields.
Customize symbology for barcodes, such as switching to Code 128.
Saving and Finalizing
Save your label design regularly to avoid losing work.
Perform a final preview to ensure all elements are correctly aligned and functional.
